  1. Cypress Trees of San Quirico d'Orcia

Cypress Trees of San Quirico d'Orcia (UNESCO Heritage): Imagine walking through a magical place with really tall cypress trees. These trees make a special path that looks like something from a storybook. When the sun is setting, the light makes everything look golden and dreamy. This spot is like a snapshot of the timeless beauty of Tuscany. Keep in mind that lots of tourists might visit, so it's better to go on weekdays to enjoy a quieter experience.

To reach the cypress trees, you can start from San Quirico d'Orcia, a charming town in Tuscany. If you're coming from Florence or Siena, it's about a 1.5 to 2-hour drive. Follow the signs towards San Quirico d'Orcia, and once there, you can easily find directions to the cypress grove. Remember, it's a popular spot, so consider visiting on a weekday to avoid crowds. Nearby famous cities include Siena and Montepulciano.

2. Campi Elisi near Pienza

Have you ever watched the movie Gladiator? One of its most famous scenes was filmed in Campi Elisi. This place is truly magical, not just because of its association with a famous movie, but also because of the atmosphere that seems to stop time and transports you into the heart of a painting.

The Elysian Fields are located near Pienza, in the Val D'orcia region. You can choose to admire the view from the terrace of the village or directly below, amidst the fields (I personally recommend doing both).

If you type "Elysian Fields" on Google Maps, it will easily take you to the area, but be careful where you park your car because technically, the small clearing near the access to the fields is a no-parking zone. It's up to you whether to take the risk. Otherwise, you can turn back and walk a few more minutes.

3. Church of Vitaleta

I'm sure that if you're planning your elopement and honeymoon in Tuscany, you've heard of the Madonna di Vitaleta church. It's a gem not to be missed when visiting the Val d'Orcia area.

To officially marry inside the church, you need to obtain permits well in advance, and the cost is quite high. Alternatively, you can opt to take photos in front of the church, and if it's not too crowded with tourists, it's a great backdrop for exchanging vows.

Additionally, near the church, as you walk around, you'll notice a vast field that's an excellent option for the vows. I've been there in the spring, and during that time, it's filled with little yellow flowers, making it feel like you're in a scene from a Miyazaki film.

Let's be honest, these are just three of the most beautiful places in Tuscany. Wherever you decide to take photos and exchange vows will be magical. You can even start from one of these and then visit at least one more during the day; they're not far from each other. Remember to enjoy the moment, and if you can, the best advice I can give you is definitely to get lost among the hills while driving with the sun on your face. Buy a bottle of wine, some schiacciata, and celebrate each other!
